The Monticello Marlins swim team have passed their mid season point.  Despite the difficulty of not having a local pool to hold practices and having approximately 30 fewer swimmers this year, they have had a strong season.  The Marlin swimmers have proven their dedication to their sport this year by traveling to Warren everyday to practice at both the Warren YMCA and the Warren City Pool. The Marlins have placed first as a team in 3 of 4 meets losing only to the El Dorado Healthworks Hurricanes at their opening meet in Arkadelphia. The Marlins are coached this year by head coach Amanda Dreyer, Rebecca McEachern, Meredith Grubbs, Jordan Hopper and Landon Owens.

COAST MEET-ARKADELPHIA, AR
Monticello Marlins Swim Team placed 2nd with 741 points.
The Marlins brought home 36 first place finishes, 25 second place finishes, 19 third place finishes, 10 fourth place finishes, 12 5th place finishes, 6 sixth place finishes, 3 seventh place finishes, 8 eighth place finishes, 5 ninth place finishes, and 10th place finish.
 
MONTICELLO MARLINS SWIM MEET-WARREN, AR
The Monticello Marlins Swim Meet was held at the Warren YMCA on June 21, 2008.
The Marlins placed first as a team with 1119.5 points.  The Crossett Racing Eagles placed second with 610.5 points

The Marlin Relay Teams won 20 first place finishes, 2 second place finishes, and 1 3rd place finish. Only 2 of the 25 relay teams did not place.
 
The Marlins will compete July 12th at El Dorado and also at the LASER MEET in Little Rock.  The SASA Regional Championships will be held July 19th in Arkadelphia.
