Monticello Man Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Crime & Must Register as Sex Offender

A 26 year old Monticello man accepted a guilty plea, in Circuit Court, Monday, in a case where he had been charged with Engaging Child in Sexually Explicit Conduct for use in Visual Media.

Jonathan Quintelle Minton, plead guilty to Sexually Explicit Conduct with a Child, for his actions from March 4, for which he was attested by Monticello Police.

Minton will serve 5 years on probation.

Minton also must register as a sex offender.

    what is wrong with the court system? 5 years probation for this act against a child, who will be scared for life, and only probatin for the monster who done it. we have a very poor court system. yet tey have no problem with giving a man with pssion of pot 10 yers in prison. whats wrong people? what a great place we live.

    Yeah there is a drug problem but D#*N their is a BIGGER problem w/ people raping our children. OMG!!!!! Judge Gibson can you see that. Drugs will get you life & sexually offending a child get you probation. They can reoffend cuz its to many people per probation officers & they can’t keep up w/ the drug offenders so they sure can’t keep up w/ the sex offenders. Only in drew county

    Just cant believe this sick man has got away with doing a child like this.Would it be different if it had been someone child that was on the justice system.Monticello it time the people of this town looks around and see what going on.This child will have problems the rest of it life.

    This is pure sickning for a grown man to even find interest in a child! Put him away for life because giving him 5 years probation is a pat on the and saying that’s not right don’t do it again! I am a parent and we have resposibility to protect our children from such people where is justice at here the court system sucks! Prayers for the child and the family.
