The MHS Renaissance Team will be accepting applications through April 11th.  Applications may be picked up from the table in the hallway outside Mrs. Bonfanti’s room.  They must be completed and turned to the office in no later than3:05 TODAY!! Friday April11th.  Current members, you must reapply if you would like to be on the 2014-2015 Renaissance Team.

 

Muffins in the library are SOLD OUT right now.

 

Monticello HS Concert Choir earned Superior 1st Division ratings at the Arkansas Choral Directors State Choral Performance Assessment -CPA Thursday, April 10 at UCA in Conway.  These ratings, combined with their

1st division ratings at region CPA in March, gives MHS Choir the Sweepstakes Award for the second consecutive year. Congratulations to such an amazing and talented group of musicians!  We are proud of you.

 

Seniors:  Important announcement from Mrs. Curry:  If you applied for the Academic Challenge Scholarship and received a letter saying that you did not complete the core course requirements please come see me and let me check your transcript.

 

Teachers:

As you are going over scheduling procedures with your students, please have them check the address printed on their transcript.  If it needs to be changed in our computer system, please have the student write their name and correct address on a sheet of paper and turn it in to me. – Mrs. Adcock

 

Every person who was in the club picture for the Speech & Drama club needs to meet in Mrs. Ashcraft’s room at 11:20 on Friday.  Members who missed the picture should also attend this meeting.

 

Several students have an overdue book fine in the Library please see Ms. Jarrett in the Library and pay these, seniors you will not be able to sign out on your last day if your fine isn’t paid!

 

STUDENTS? DO NOT block the doorways while standing outside, Doors are for entering and exiting the building not for wind protection, need somewhere to go in the mornings the MHS cafeteria is available! .

 

Seniors:  Please pick up a senior parent letter in the counseling center.  Letter contains dates and times that are important for the remainder of the school year.

 

Attention Students:

In order to attend Safe Prom, you must:

1. Buy a prom ticket

2. Sign and bring with you to Safe Prom, the release and waiver agreement.

 

If you are bringing a date who is NOT a MHS students, he or she can attend Safe Prom as long as he/she is on the Prom list. However, your out-of-district date is not eligible for door prizes or drawings.

 

Safe Prom will be held in the Turf Building from 12:30 until 3:30. It will feature carnival-type rides and activities this year. You can see the pictures of the rides and activities on the MHS online newspaper atbillienews.billies.org

 

Food will include funnel cakes, cotton candy, pizza, corn dogs, nachos, popcorn and candy.

If you leave Safe Prom early for any reason, you will not be allowed to re-enter. Hope to see you there! It’ll be the best Safe Prom ever!

 

Attention Prospective 10th, 11th, & 12th Graders–

Do you like to write? Or take pictures? Or do you like to be right in the middle of everything going on at MHS? Then you need to register for Journalism 1. You will simultaneously be learning about journalism and publishing an online newspaper. Journalism 1 students will be publishing on a weekly basis. Starting in the month of April the Remediation Labs will be open from 3:30 to 5:30 Monday through Thursday.  (After-school program)

 

Prom packets will be available in the office. Mrs. Abney will be selling tickets everyday this week and the week after spring break in the student center at lunch time only.  Tickets are $15 per person.  You must have your packet completed before you can purchase your ticket.
