Senior athletes - if you plan to participate in college sports you must be registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse and have qualifying ACT scores. If you do not have ACT scores you need to take the October test. If you have not registered with the Clearinghouse you need to do so. Registration is done online. Information is available from your coach or Mrs. Curry in the counseling center.

The PSAT test will be given on Oct. 15th at Monticello High School. The PSAT is for juniors and is the qualifying test for The National Merit Scholarship Program.
The PSAT is a pre SAT test, much like the PLAN is a pre ACT test.
The PSAT test fee is $13.00. Sign up in the counseling center this week. Please make checks or money orders payable to Monticello High School.

Students wanted to let you know that our very own MHS cheerleaders will be on Channel 11 in the morning anywhere from 6-7 am.

11:00 in Coach Jackson’s room SIP. You must bring all your books and be on time.

Monday night (Labor Day) at 6:30, the Monticello Billies will play Vilonia in Pine Bluff at UAPB. You may purchase a $7.00 ticket early from any school campus, superintendent’s office, football player, cheerleader or pom squad member, Bernadette Carmical, Amy Brunson, Farm Bureau, or Union Bank. If you purchase a ticket early all of the proceeds go to the Monticello School District and will allow you to get into both games that day.

Students: Before you are allowed to take the written portion of the drivers test, you must have a driver’s form from the school. Please give Mrs. Adcock several days advance notice if you are planning to take the test. She will fill out the paperwork for you ahead of time. State Law requires you to have a 2.0 GPA for LAST SEMESTER to be eligible to take the written part of the test unless you are 18 years old.

The cheer and pom would like to invite everyone to rally with them on Friday at 11:30 in front of the cafeteria to get the Billies pumped up to win at the Hootens Classic on Monday, Labor Day. They will be throwing spirit sticks and t-shirts throughout the assembly. If you catch a spirit stick, take a look, there will be 20 free tickets given out at the pep assembly, you might be a winner! Come dance, cheer with them, and get the Billie team pumped up for the BIG GAME!

Students-Please do not block the entrance to the building by gathering in between the double doors in the morning. Parents and visitors cannot enter with you there. If you are cold, the cafeteria is the place to go to stay warm.

Students you cannot be dropped off for school on the east side of the building. The only place you are allowed to be dropped off is at the back of the building between the school and the student parking lot. Students you need to understand this is a safety issue! If you drive a vehicle to school as soon as you get here you must get out of your vehicle, leave the student parking lot, and walk down to the school building. You may not hang out in your vehicle or on the parking lot.

Students you must read the information in your handbook and follow the dress code guidelines. These guidelines must be followed no exceptions. Ex: Sunglasses are not permitted or holes in clothing.

Thank you so much for publishing the MHS Bulletin announcements. I have two students at MHS and we still miss the announcements. Word of mouth with their friends seems to be the only way they find out about meetings they’re supposed to attend or things they need to sign up for. Now I just print off the pertinent information and ask them when they get home if they heard about it. Then we can make arrangements for special pickups if they have to stay after school. Thank you, thank you again MonticelloLive for keeping us informed.
