MHS BULLETIN 08/25/2008

Please do not block the entrance to the building by gathering in between the double doors in the morning. Parents and visitors cannot enter with you there. If you are cold, the cafeteria is the place to go.

Students you cannot be dropped off for school on the east side of the building. The only place you are allowed to be dropped off is at the back of the building between the school and the student parking lot. Students you need to understand this is a safety issue! If you drive a vehicle to school as soon as you get here you must get out of your vehicle, leave the student parking lot, and walk down to the school building. You may not hang out in your vehicle or on the parking lot.

Students you must read the information in your handbook and follow the dress code guidelines. These guidelines must be followed no exceptions. Ex: Sunglasses are not permitted or holes in clothing.

CLUB NEWS:
Students who want to run for an officer position in the Speech and Drama Club need to pay the $10 dues and then sign up for a position by Wednesday of THIS WEEK.
Contact Mrs. Ashcraft or Mrs. Armbrust.

Student Delegates to the Arkansas Student Congress should have bills written by September 1st.
Turn these into Mrs. Ashcraft for approval. MHS also needs two 9th grade students who would
like to serve as pages at Student Congress in November.

Class Officer and Student Council Election will be held Wednesday, September 3rd. Anyone interested in running please sign up with the following teachers through Friday August 29th.

Monticello Senior High Choir Officers have been selected for the 2008-2009 school year: President Skylar Jacobs, Vice-President Tonette Wilkes, Secretary Margie Lundy, Assistant Secretary Kabrescha Binns, Public Relations Antjuan Tucker, and teachers aid Jake Castell, Stephanie Lambert, Natalie Skinner.

AFTERSCHOOL NEWS:
The after-school program will open on Tuesday after Labor Day and will run from 3:20-6:00 Monday through Thursday. ALL students who plan to attend MUST fill out a NEW enrollment form. Anyone wishing to ride the bus, MUST fill out a NEW bus form. Both forms MUST be turned in to Ms. RIPLEY (Rm 71) at least 24 hours before the first day of attendance. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Schedule:
Monday-Thursday (General Homework/Research in the Library) Students MUST have homework assignments!
Tues. & Wed. (Math Homework-Ms. Russell’s room)
Other classes will be announced soon.

The Game & Fish Commission will offer a Hunter’s Education CD class on Sept. 10. The class will receive cd’s and info about the class on that date and will return for the exam on Sept. 24. If interested in this class, sign up with Ms. Ripley in Rm. 71.

LIBRARY NEWS:
The Library Club would like to invite all interested students to become members. Dues are $5.00. Sign up in the library

LUNCH MENU: Tomorrow you have a choice of salad bar or hoagie, mayo, mustard, sandwich salad cup, pretzels and oatmeal raisin cookie. You have a choice of tea, bottled water or milk to drink.
