MHS Band Earns Honors
October 22nd, 2012 by SubmittedCongratulations to the Monticello High School Band on their performance and awards at the Ouachita Valley Invitational marching contest on Saturday, October 20th. The band received 1st division superior ratings for auxiliaries, drum major, percussion and full band. The percussion was awarded the Class AAA Outstanding percussion section. Drum Major, Matt Cater, won the award for Class AAA Outstanding drum major. The band was also awarded the Class AAA outstanding band. On top of those awards, the MHS Band won Overall Outsanding Marching Technique, Overall Outstanding Musical Performance and was named the Grand Champion of the entire contest. Congratulations to this fantastic group of students on this amazing achievement.

Mr. Teague has done an excellent job with his students! I am so proud of the entire band for all the hard work that they have put into practicing for all the competitions. I am even more proud of the MHS Flagline! These girls have worked non-stop on their routines. Congratulations Kayla, Becca, Bailey, Lizzy, Layne, Tylar, Mallory, Delany and Kalee Jo!
