Published by Joe Burgess May 12th, 2008 in MEDC.This is a portion of the MEDC report as it was presented to the group by MEDC director Truman Hamilton.
The Southeast Arkansas Cornerstone Coalition has a transportation forum planned for May 15th to be held at The University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Representatives from the Arkansas Highway Department, Louisiana Department of Transportation and the Mississippi Department of Transportation are scheduled to attend. The Forum will be held in the Capital Room of the Gibson Center. You may not be aware of the work currently being done on Highway 425 in Louisiana. Work is being done in Louisiana to widen this highway to four lanes with clearing and grubbing almost complete to the Louisiana Arkansas State Line. Additionally there is a feasibility study being done on the extension of I-530 through south Arkansas to Louisiana, eventually to I-20 near Monroe, Louisiana.
