MEDC Report: Transportation: Crossett
Published by Joe Burgess July 13th, 2008 in MEDC.This is a portion of the MEDC report as it was recently presented to the group by MEDC director Truman Hamilton.
I attended a feasibility report meeting on the I-69 connector held in Crossett on the 25th. Of the two routes studied, the western most route connecting I-530 at US 278 and extending south to I-20 in Monroe, Louisiana was reported to have the greatest return of $2.16 for every $1 invested in the construction. The next step in the process if this route is to be constructed is to do an Environmental Impact Study at a cost projected to be $1 million dollars. At this time there are no funds allocated to do this study.
