Mayor-Elect Maxwell Tells City Council, “Yes, I Live In The City Limits”
October 22nd, 2010 by Joe Burgess
In response to dozens of phone calls, and numerouss questions since he filed to run for Mayor of Monticello, Allen Maxwell addressed the City Council and told them, “Yes, I live in the city limits”.
Maxwell presented documentation showing that a large parcel of land in his area was annexed in April, 1993, but no maps showing the area were included.

I visited with Mr Maxwells wife, whom I found wonderful by the way, last week. It is clear that his beautiful and warmly welcoming home is in the city limits
I have a Monticello-Drew County street map and resource guide. It plainly shows on the map that all of Southern Oak is in the city limits. Seems to me that this issue should have been resolved BEFORE the election not five months after he was elected!!!
