Star City Man Gets 6 Year Sentence for Sexual Assault Case Against Minor

March 1st, 2010 by

Bobby Eugene Price accepted a plea bargain Friday in Drew County Circuit Court to the charges of sexual assault, 4th degree, a class “d” felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor.

According to sources, Price must now register as a ex offender, and serve 6 years in prison.

More on the case is posted below, in the original arrest article, from October, 2009.

Man Charged with Sex Crimes Against Children by Sheriff’s Office

A Star City man has been arrested by the Drew County Sheriff’s Dept, and charged with rape, 2 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and first degree sexual assault.

Bobby Eugene Price, age 25, had his bond set at $125,000 by District Judge Ken Harper, on Monday.

Both of Price’s alleged victims were under the age of 15 years, in the crime which took place south of Monticello.

When notified about the case, the Lincoln County’s Sheriff’s Dept. picked up Price at his home, and met a Drew County Sheriff’s Deputy in Star City, to transfer Price to Monticello, where he’s being held in the Drew County Detention Facility.

Price had reportedly been considered “a friend of the family” prior the crimes.

The case will be turned over to the prosecuting attorney’s office, upon receipt of the report from the Arkanssas State Police’s Crimes Against Children’s Unit.

  1. wilmar LADY says:

Please prosecute him 2 da fullest. People who have sex with a minor is stupid & sick & needs 2 be taken off the streets 4ever.

  2. macorker says:

I hope they lock him up for good. There is just too much of this type of crime going on in current times. People like this are pedifiles, they are sick and they do not need to be let out of jail because they cannot be rehabilitated, they are never normal. Please watch your kids carefully and do not trust them with anyone.

  3. mhsgrad2k says:

good 4 him let him rot in jail. i dont know what these guys get out of preying on innocent kids

  4. ulla says:

Let him sit in jail and think about what he did to those young girls. If they were mine, he would be thankful to be in prison.

  5. john says:

they need to give hem the death sentence then make hem stay in a cell for 20 years with pitchers of the ones he assaulted

  6. cj says:

why not let the parents of the children decide the punishments for offenders of this kind…

  7. Alice Dodson says:

Watch your family “friends”. This is an example of the necessity of keeping your eyes and ears open and not just trusting someone who says and acts like they were a friend.

  8. Shelby says:

People like this are monsters. There is nothing human about them.

  9. Brad says:

Fail Fail Fail!!! They have just FAILED the victim. What a joke 6 yrs he will be out in a year or year and a half tops.

  10. tl says:

Let the punishment fit the crime. A thief need his hand taken off. A sex offender needs his #$^&^&$ taken off.

  11. doc says:

6 years! You can get that for drug charges, We need to get involved with the justice system and get them to up the ante for child sex abuse crimes. Maybe then the guys or girls would think twice before acting. With young children it is almost always someone they trust that takes their childhood from them. This type of thing does more than physical damage. It does mental and emotional damage like you wouldn’t believe. The image of themselves is altered forever.

  12. cj says:

Doc— I could not have said it any better.

  13. Jeni says:

I cannot believe he only got 6 years! That is a joke. This is a terrible thing for a young person to go through.

  14. blondie says:

Talk to your prosecutor about the pleas they offer these people if you don’t like what they are getting…If you sat on a jury, could you give them more time? It’s easy to sit out here and comment, but with all being taken in, why put a victim through this again on a jury stand in front of all of you, or do you offer the best plea to keep them from being re-victimized? Think both sides of the story! A person with a sex offense, will have to register as a sex offender, and if in this county will be tracked when out of ADC…

  15. ethomas says:

they need to put him up under the jail or prison he is just a sick man he wouldnt want any body to do that to his child y would u do it to somebody else child
