Looking Down from Above Monticello

January 30th, 2011 by

Recently, Michael Sharp, a Monticello Police officer (who also is trained in climbing and repairing tower lights) had an antenna installation on the Select Concrete radio tower, near the intersection of Gaines and Hyatt Streets.

MonticelloLive will be posting some of the photos taken by Sharp, when he was 160 feet up on the tower, looking down on Monticello.

  1. L. Taylor says:

What are the buildings in the above picture? Can’t tell.

  2. Hawkeye Pierce says:

The pictures are looking northwest and west, respectively, towards the 278 & 425 intersection. Both pictures have the “Freedom Flag,” which is located in front of Walgreen’s. The flag pole should be a good reference for identifying the other pictures.

  3. P Mitchell says:

I don’t think my system would let me climb that high!!! Looks scary to me just looking at the pictures…..love the pictures!

  4. Mike McGinnis says:

Who took the photo of Him-and from where?

  5. Joe Burgess says:

I did, from the parking lot at Select Concrete, next to South Hyatt Street.

  6. Edith says:

neat photos, no way could I ever climb high, I’m terrified of heights!!!
