Local Couple Arrested on Drug Charges

October 29th, 2012 by

According to Sheriff Mark Gober, authorities with the Drew County Sheriff’s Department, Monticello Police Department, and Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Thursday, October 25th, at a residence at Oak View Apartments on West Jackson Street.

A couple at the residence, John A. Green, age 26, and Michea Carr, age 20, both of Monticello, were arrested at the scene after authorities discovered at the residence a large amount of a white substance believed to be cocaine and a large amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

Green and Carr were transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where they were both charged with delivery of cocaine and proximity of certain facilities. They were taken for a first appearance before Circuit Judge Bynum Gibson on Friday, October 26th, who issued each a $25,000 bond. Both Green and Carr have been released on bond.

    Why yall over putin stuff on here sm stuff aint nobody buisness

  2. Tim says:

    @liscoota
    You say this is nobody’s business but in fact it is. There is a preschool and a special needs facility in the area of oak view apartments which makes it a lot of people’s business. Anything could take place when people are dealing drugs. I know we are in south east Arkansas but drug deals can go bad which can result in some kid in that area to fall victim. Also there is a great deal of kids that live in oak view. And people who did not know about this going on and I bet they are glad they got caught. But you must either be a buyer, supplier, friend or family of these people. If you are a friend or family I know you can’t pick your family and you want to support them but they are grown people who done wrong. Didn’t he just get out of prison a couple of months ago for able same thing? Don’t they have a kid that was there when they were selling or got caught? It’s sad the child was exposed to that. I pray for them all that they find themselves for if not them at least for the child who is innocent. I know some people will be upset at this comment but oh well… Call it how I see it. He should have learned

  3. Tim says:

    If I do say so myself all of our local law enforcement have stepped up and are doing a good job. That goes for police department, sheriffs department, drug task force, game and fish and state police.

  4. Disillusioned Alum says:

    @Liscoota – You must hate newspapers and television too, right?

  5. Jennifer says:

    Obviously some people do not realize that arrests are public knowledge. If you want to get really upset, go check out Drew County Detention Facility’s page on facebook. Their picture will be there along with the reason they were arrested. Tim-I agree 100% with you!! This is horrible and I hope harm has been diverted. Thank you to all the local law enforcement for trying to clean Monticello up!!!

  6. Ashley says:

    Thank you Tim!

  7. Care Giver says:

    This arrest was made in an area that is within a few blocks of our courthouse, Churches, our city Library, Piggly Wiggly, Head Of The Class School, an assisted living complex, Developmental Disabilities office buildings, MPD, MFD, MASI, SEEMS, and basically in the heart of our town…..it is A CONCERN FOR ALL RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS!!!
