What is this world coming to???
wow wonder if it was the same person who on Main street tried to break into a car and that I met face to face on the back steps of my house…
No matter which way you look at it this is sad! I’m sure if the person should have went to the church and asked for food they should have give it to him but the postage scale that is only being used for one thing now and that is for illegal narcotics I don’t think this person will be mailing any letters.
i bet if there was a new police station and fire station on main street this may not have happen
or the same person who broke out a window of a car from the appartments next to the library and stole a 270 and a purse! Sad to say that is not a safe part of town
In other states this happens a lot. I admit I am very surprised it has started happening here. I’m sure this won’t be the last.
I agree with the person that said this is bad no matter how you look at it.
I noticed that food items were on that list of missing things. This person has to be very desperate to turn to such measures. As for the postal scale, I have to agree with the person that said it was probably going to be used for illegal substances. I can’t really think of any other use this person might get from it.
All that being said, I hope this person eventuay finds what they need–God. Maybe along with those things they took, they also found themselves under HIs conviction.
This is not the first time that this has happened here in Monticello or southeast Arkansas. I remember hearing about it all the time around this time of the year but as I said before this is sad. But it is going to get worse most likely due to gas going up holidays and the bills still coming in at a high rate for most people. But for the comment on the police and fire station no I don’t think I would make a difference where it is located this stuff is going to happen no matter what but it’s not law enforcements fault an it’s not because they are not doing there job it is the fact that they can’t be every where at once and the criminals see them coming way before the police see the criminals that’s just the way it is. I am a police officer an I have had someone do stuff to my property while I was home in bed and when I tell people that they look at me like I am crazy and say but your the police no one will do that the truth is they have and they will no matter who you are and where the police station is. I have heard of police cars being broken into in other places it’s dumb to do it period no matter where it is at! But folks if you get the urge to take something that don’t belong to you why don’t you try asking someone for help with money problems and stuff if they can they will help you. Don’t break in a place an take a chance of getting caught and going to prision. And remember you don’t have to break into a church the doors are open most of the time an the lord would love you to come in an worship and find your way to him.
Oh good gosh, c’mon!! Don’t excuse them! Let’s not blame the economy, gas prices or the holidays or the “robber’s bills” as a reason for them breaking and entering. I doubt they pay their bills, so I don’t believe they’re stealing and using the money to pay bills. LOL! Maybe LE could check the court dockets and find criminals that got probation to narrow down their search
I’ve listened to the bleeding hearts news anchors try to say the same kind of thing and it’s ridiculous!
I’m glad they “took a chance” and I hope they do get caught and sent to prison, where they probably came from anyway
It is really sad that things like this is happening. Our church that has not been announced has gotten broke into twice (2 times) last week also. Whatever they are looking for I pray that God or someone bless them with. I pray for the peoples everyday that are lost and need help.
Tuesday: Your are right it is no excuse for things like this. And if caught they should be put in jail that is no doubt but it is a fact that crimes pick up this time of year an alot of them use stolen property to buy drugs and alcohol. And alot of people spend all there money on these two things and don’t have enough money to provide for their families. Sad anyway you look at it
Bills? They are most likely looking for money to buy liquor and drugs and that is also why no one will help them and give or loan them money.
Well, maybe if the police would just sit in the Presbyterian Church office overnight, they will catch the guy coming back for a third trip. Criminals are not that smart.
Mike – it would be great if we had enough cops for them to do nothing but sit in church parking lots overnight.. but sadly criminals are doing crime at all hours of the day/night and they have to attend to them, too. This is really so sad… and I agree that it is highly unlikely that this person(s) is breaking into churches to provide for his or her family… more like provide for his or her drug habit. Ridiculous.
I agree with Natalie.
all we can do is pray for this person , im sure its the same one doing it and if u are a church staff , here is a sugestion keep the money safe , and any treasures you might have . this person must be desperate for Jesus . – I hope he gets caught in action-
Like I said…
i used to be friends with the kid and he never done stuff like this. i dnt know whats gotten into him hes gone crazy. He must really need jesus.
Way to go FF! I’m sure I speak for others when I say that we really appreciate you taking the bull by the horns.
Thank God they got him!
I knew it!!!
I hope this will never take place again in our great city. Thanks to video cameras and MPD
Congrats to Mr. Frank Ferguson on setting up the security system and taking his own personal time to keep it monitored!
@a girl! You do not know what has gotten into him, he’s crazy. Really sad!
It takes a really sick individual to rob a church. God have mercy on his soul.
Awesome job, Frank!!!
We need to pray for this young man. But there is a price you have to pay for a crime. But we must forgive. Hope he will learn from this
. Remember Jesus died for all. God bless each and everyone.
