“Concealing Birth” of Deceased Infant Earns $20,000 Bond for Local Woman

A 37 year old Drew County woman was arrested, Monday, on the charge of “Concealing Birth” which is a class “D” Felony.
On Wednesday, April 1, at approximately 11:30 am, Drew County authorities were dispatched to the Drew Memorial Hospital Emergency Room were it was alleged that Anne Bynum had entered the hospital asking to see a doctor. When asked what was wrong, Bynum held up a plastic bag containing a newborn baby girl. The child was pronounced deceased at the hospital and taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy.
During the investigation it was discovered that Bynum (approximately 33 weeks pregnant) delivered the child at around 3 am at her parents home, but did not call for medical attention or wake anyone up. Instead she placed the child in the plastic bag and stored the baby in her car. Bynum then went back inside and went back to bed and several hours later she reported to Drew Memorial Hospital.
It has also been discovered that Bynum had taken medications a couple of days before the birth to induce labor.
The Drew County Sheriff’s Office is currently still investigating the case, which will be submitted to Prosecutor Thomas Deen for official charges, which are subject to being amended to a more severe charge after review of the case.
Bynum appeared before Circuit Judge Teresa French, Wednesday morning, and had her bond set at $20,000.

That is terrible thing to do. All the people out there that would love to have children but cant and some woman does this to a beautiful creation of GOD. She deserves everything that comes to her.
