U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) today applauded the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) decision to deploy mobile homes from Hope for use as disaster housing for Arkansans affected by the February 5 storms.

“I am pleased that FEMA has recognized its ability to utilize the vacant mobile homes to fill a tremendous need for our families desperately seeking to rebuild their lives,” Lincoln said.  “In my letter to Administrator Paulison today, I thanked him for FEMA’s presence in our state and stressed that the deployment of these mobile homes must be carried out quickly.”

Following last week’s tornadoes, Lincoln toured storm-damaged communities and visited with Arkansans with FEMA Administrator David Paulison and state and emergency officials.  Lincoln has pledged to work with federal, state, and local officials to help those who need assistance.
