Supporters of the Monticello Boys & Girls Club met Tuesday afternoon at the City Park facility.

Highlights of the meeting include the Club’s re-opening for students on February 11th, at normal operating times, right after school is out each weekday.

The Club has 2 full-time volunteers, Dorothy Woods and Carla Harper, who will be on staff during the start up phase of the club’s re-opening.  Also on staff are the 2 Americore workers, who’ve been with the program before it’s temporary closing earlier in the year.

The club will use the week of February 4, to train workers, as well as use it to serve as a preparation time for the building.

The Boys & Girls Club will also be re-organizing their board of directors, and is expected to appoint Tom Wingard and Tiffany Berryman to serve in that capacity.  Meetings are being set up with the national organization to provide guidance in this area.

The group present seem to be encouraged with the progress, and seek the support of the community.

“There are many opportunities to volunteer, even just a couple of hours a week will make a difference,” said one of the supporters.
