Lady Billies softball slams Warren in first game

In a 13-1 decisive win, the Lady Billies downed the Lady Lumberjacks in play at Warren on Tuesday afternoon. Jessica Cruce got the win giving up one run and five hits.  She also struck out 13 of 25 batters.  Jamie Moore, Kourtney Scott, and Sydney Selby batted 3/4.  The team overall had 14 hits out of 32 at bats.

First year coach Ryan Morgan said, “It was an overall great first game.  The girls really played hard.” Morgan came to Monticello from Dumas where he previously coached baseball there.

Senior Jamie Moore said, “Hard work pays off”. Their next game is Thursday night, March 1 at 7 p.m. in El Dorado.
