Volunteers needed to help keep Monticello & Drew County beautiful
Keep Monticello & Drew County Beautiful – Volunteers are needed to participate in Keep Monticello & Drew County Beautiful’s spring community improvement event April 22, 2017. The cleanup is being held in conjunction with the Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup in Arkansas (GAmC), the annual spring statewide litter-pickup campaign promoted by Keep Arkansas Beautiful (KAB).
Everyone in Monticello and Drew County is encouraged to participate in this year’s community improvement effort. Civic and service organizations, church and youth groups, school groups and clubs, scouts, individuals, families, neighborhoods, and businesses can organize cleanup teams and pitch in.
On April 22nd volunteers should meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Monticello Square to pick up your supplies such as trash bags, gloves, vests, and trash grabbers. Some supplies are limited, so be prepared to provide some of your own. A list of areas in Monticello which need to be cleaned up, and can be adopted by your group for year-round clean-up, is available on the Monticello Edc Facebook page. The April 22nd work day will conclude at 12:00 noon on the square with free hot dogs and drinks for those who have registered and helped with the cleanup efforts. It is important to register your group and let us know where you are cleaning up in order to have the bags of trash picked up and disposed. Last year, Monticello & Drew picked up over 80 bags of trash from our roadways in Monticello. Let’s do more this year! To register your group early, please call 870-367-4410 for City groups and 870-460-6200 for County Groups.
