Just Wondering Wednesday: About the Water Report…

Question: Why was the “Water Report” sent out to the entire community rather than being posted in the paper or online? Was it because of legal requirements? If not, why was it done?
The report has previously been published yearly in the local newspaper. According to the Monticello Water Department, the Arkansas Health Department this year required that all residents be mailed a copy.

I do not know why Monticello Water Department sent their report in the mail. My husband is the water operator for Collins Water Association and he either posts the report on the door of the water plant building or by mail. We are a small community and it would be too expensive to use the newspapers. Larger water systems have the option of newspapers or by mail. The Healt Department determines what the options are according to number of meters.
