Intermodal Update – Bills Current, Construction Continues, Contacts Coming In

Contractors are being paid, and are back to work at the intermodal site.
After the recent financial episode, it was reported that all bills are current.
Garver Engineers say the construction of the embankment is making good progress, and the side-track project is approaching.
A board member stated, “All money spent up to this point has been getting us ready to begin a stream of income.” Another member agreed, “We’re getting close”
Contacts from prospective clients are gradually coming in, including a large wood products user, that can’t be identified, due to confidentiality reasons.
Kevin Sexton, of AEDC, spoke to the group, emphasizing the need for more training of the employee base in the area to become “prospect ready.” Sexton said that prospective groups are searching for “workforce, incentives, and infrastructure.”
Reginald Glover commented that UAM offers “industry specific courses” at times, when contacted by an employer, in order to provide a better workforce.
