Recently, Monticello Police Dept’s Michael Sharp was photographed hanging decorative owls on the top portions of the police radio tower, in an effort to reduce the number of birds that land in the tower, and the number of ”decorations from overhead”.
Sharp, a local officer, used proper safety equimpemt, and is an experienced, trained climber for projects as cell phone towers.

Dear MPD,
I saw this crazy man climbing up a tower above your post. Oh,… I guess you heard.
Good job, Officer Sharp.
Great work Officer Sharp. I knew you would ascend to higher posistions but this wasn’t what I had in mind!! Keep up the great work. Having you protecting our city gives me peach of mind.
I have had the chance to work with Officer Sharp numerous times during holiday seasons and throughout the year dealing with shoplifters. He was always professional, courteous, and quick to respond. Officer Sharp is an asset to Monticello and MPD.
May God continue to bless and protect you Officer Sharp.
