Accident North of Monticello Claims Life of Dumas Man

May 16th, 2008 by

A Dumas man lost his life and a Monticello woman has been transported to Little Rock, as a result of a collision just north of the Drew-Lincoln county line this morning.

As a courtesy, MonticelloLive wants to let readers know in advance that photos of the vehicles are shown on the attached link.

Robin Davis Johnson of Monticello was driving this 2006 Honda Civic eastbound on HWY 54 about one mile north of the Drew-Lincoln county line this morning just before 9 a.m., when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck the 1993 Ford Crown Victoria, below, driven by Arthur G. Boothe, Jr. of Dumas.  Both vehicles left the roadway after the impact.

Both drivers were transported to Drew Memorial Hospital by ambulance.  There were no other passengers in either vehicle.

Mr. Boothe was declared deceased after arriving at Drew Memorial, and Mrs. Johnson was reportedly transfered to a Little Rock Hospital.
