GOVERNOR BEEBE DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY TO HELP PREVENT AND FIGHT GAS PRICE GOUGING
Published by Governor Mike Beebe September 12th, 2008 in State Governor's column.Governor Mike Beebe has declared a state of emergency in Arkansas because of gasoline-supply interruptions in relation to Hurricane Ike.Some pipelines that route gasoline to fuel wholesalers and gas stations in Arkansas have been shut down until Ike is no longer a threat to the Gulf Coast. As a result, some temporary increases in gas prices are expected during the next few days. However, Attorney General McDaniel has vowed to go after anyone who tries to profit illicitly from the situation through price gouging. Governor Beebe fully supports McDaniel’s efforts, and made this declaration to help the Attorney General’s Office pursue anyone who participates in gouging of any sort.

i think this is crazy gas jumed up $1.00 in 24 hours it was $3.59 yeterday morning this morning i paid $4.59 if this isnt being gouged i dont know what is!!!!!! im a disabled widow i can not pay these prices!
I think we have been gouged enough by the oil industry–they are rich fat cats as it is & us poor folks on limited income and low wages are the ones who suffer because of it. there is no shortage–it’s just the rich getting richer every day.
