Friday Wreck on Old HWY 13

January 24th, 2009 by Joe Burgess

The teenage driver of this Dodge pick-up was not able to stop the vehicle, and rear-ended a Ford-brand SUV Friday afternoon around 4 o’clock on Old HWY 13, north of Monticello.

The vehicle was towed by J. A. Goad Towing.

You have been told multiple times by numerous people to “SLOW IT DOWN” before you kill yourself or someone else!!!!

  2. jamie says:

Everyone speeds on this highway. It is just a matter of time before someone is killed or seriously injured due to the wreckless driving along that road.

  3. anonymous says:

Well ignore the first comment that was very rude i understand your concern but to beat someone else down over something like that is not kool. And by the way i am just glad that everyone is ok and to let you know anoymous driver i am praying for ya

  4. I lived next door to the teenage driver for several years, and I now live in Windy Hills. When this wreck occurred the road was wet. (I drove up behind them seconds after it happened) I am not saying that it wasn’t his fault, but I can say that he never drove in an unsafe manner on Lakewood Estates Road, and that the slickness may have been a contributing factor. There are very few teenagers that haven’t driven too fast, or ridden too close, at some point. I agree that people do drive way too fast on Old Hwy 13, but I think comments here should be written in a mature manner. People vent behind fake names too much.

Hopefully this taught him a lesson about following too closely, but he isn’t a bad kid.
