hampton-dl-crop.JPGBobby Hampton of Monticello has not been found as of Friday afternoon.

Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober updated

MonticelloLive around noon with the status of the search.

Wednesday morning, the Sheriff’s Dept. was called to investigate the disappearance of Mr. Hampton.

The Sheriff’s office has contacted all of Mr. Hampton’s friends, and followed every possible lead that has come in at this point.

They spent Friday morning interviewing several people who may be helpful in the search.

Gober told MonticelloLive that Drew County’s Co-ordinator of Search & Rescue, Raymond Chisom, worked with other search & rescue personnel, as well as many volunteer citizens, as they searched the area by foot and with four-wheelers.

“We dragged all 3 nearby ponds, because we didn’t want to leave any stone unturned.”  Gober added, “We don’t expect foul play to be involved, but we never rule that out.”

Bobby Hampton was last seen Tuesday morning at 7:30 by his wife, as she was leaving for work.

Mr. Hampton is 54 years of age, has a beard and mustache, and is balding.  He is around 5 ft, 9 inches tall and weighs around 230, with a medium stocky build.

He may be wearing a cap and light colored jeans.  He also usually wore deck-shoes without laces.

He may be dis-oriented, but should be non-confrontational.

Anyone with information, of if you see someone matching his photo, please contact the Drew County Sheriff at 870-367-6211, or the Monticello Police Dept. at 870-367-3411.

At this point the search is continuing.

MonticelloLive.com will update with reports as the search continues.
