Fire at “Old Burlington” Monticello Recycling

At 12:49, Wednesday afternoon, Monticello firefighters were paged to a fire at Monticello Recycling, better known as the “Old Burlington plant” on Jackson Street.
The fire was contained to an area, approximately 25 x 30′, outside of the building, where only pallets and paper were involved.
The fire did not involve anything inside of the building, where the situation could have been much worse.
The fire department was on the scene for over an hour.
