Felony Theft from Local Business Lands 3 in Jail
Thursday evening around 6:00, It’s Fashions, located in the North Park Shopping Center, called the local police dispatch with a report of a theft, involving 3 people who had taken items from the store. The caller provided the vehicle’s license plate number, which was given to all local police officers.
Drew County Sheriff’s Deputy Mitchell heard the call (which was believed to have been an armed robbery, at the time), and saw a vehicle similar to the one described on HWY 35 West. He began pursuit, and called for assistance.
Deputy Mitchell was able to get the vehicle stopped shortly after it turned north on HWY 63, in Cleveland County. Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober soon arrived on the scene, as did the state police, and a Cleveland County deputy.
Two adult females and an adult male, all of Pine Bluff, were taken into custody and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility, where they remained Friday.
All 3 suspects have been charged with theft of property over $500.
