Felony Marijuana Arrest

According to Lt. Jason Akers of the 10th Drug Task Force, a Monticello man is facing felony marijuana charges after being arrested by Task Force Agents.

According to Akers, Drug Task Force Agents were attempting to locate a wanted person on an unrelated drug charge at Pilgrim’s Rest Apartments when a suspect matching the description of the person they were looking for was seen in the area where the wanted person was supposed to be hiding.

Agents tried to detain and identify the suspect, who fled on foot into a residence.

Agents pursued the suspect into the residence and then obtained consent to search the residence, locating Marchello Woods, age 25 , inside the residence along with approximately (25) bags of marijuana.

Woods was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver.

His bond was set in the amount of 10,000 by Monticello District Judge Kenneth Harper.

This arrest was the second felony arrest made by the Drug Task Force and Monticello Police Department at Pilgrim’s rest apartments in the last week.
