As a Chairperson of Livestock & Forage (with Chuck Capps, extension agent) we are excited to see a record number of poultry entries! Over 190 preregistered and expecting over 200 entries in poultry and rabbits. The 4H Poultry Club has a display of hatching chicks in their educational booth. We will have the Livestock Tent open Thursday evening and all day Friday and Saturday.
We are accepting entries for poultry, rabbits and livestock starting at 4PM Thursday until 6 PM or when the line ends.
The Egg Show will also be accepting entries all day Thursday until 6 PM. Currently we have several dozen of chicken eggs, duck eggs, guinea eggs and even two entries of quail eggs.
The Drew County 4H Poultry Club has an informational table full of hatchery catalogs, poultry supplies and other information. Take a look at Monticello’s own Ethan Graves on the front cover of the Metzer Hatchery catalog. Ethan visited Stonehedge in England last year and won a $100 gift certificate for his photo with a Metzer catalog.
A lot is still happening at the Drew County Fair this week! The Drew County Fair belongs to the people of Drew County. It is what you make it. So come out and tour the Livestock Tent, the Commercial Building, the EHC Building and the Midway. Visit Joe at the MonticelloLive.com booth and pick up a new Phone Book!
Lookup Mokie and tell him thank you for bringing his carnival to Drew County for all these years.
See you in the Livestock Tent at your Drew County Fair!
