Published by Joe Burgess November 4th, 2008 in Elections.Drew County Clerk Lyna Gulledge reported that there is “extremely heavy voter turnout, countywide” earlier this afternoon, so be sure that you take part in the election.j
Drew County polls will be open until 7:30 tonight. All regular polling sites will be open.
Also worth noting, 3050 early votes were cast in Drew County.
Election issues will include the Presidential Election, as well as the Saline Township Alcohol Sales Issue.

The informatin below posted on the morning of November 3, 2008
Laura Fawcett and Dale High were amoung the over 2,600
Drew County voters who “early voted” at the courthouse.
Early voting is open Monday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.,
Election day is Tuesday, with polls being open from 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
Ron Workman is one of the 1326 Drew County voters that has “voted early” this election, in the Club Room of the Courthouse.
Lines are short, and there are 3 machine to get you in & out quickly.
288 voters cast their ballots Monday.

Over 218 Drew County voters, including Frank Jackson, shown here casting his ballot in the courthouse clubroom, took the chance Monday to vote in the Presidential Election. Over 100 voted during the morning.
Early voting will continue Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. until 6. p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. til 4 p.m.
The normal polling places will be open from 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4.
