This report is taken from the note of the CEO’s report from the Drew Memorial Hospital’s Board meeting.  Our appreciation to Mr. Goddard for his cooperation.

The Hospital Auxiliary met on Wednesday, January 2nd at First United Methodist Church. Their “Everything $5” Jewelry Sale on December 19 – 20, 2007 was a big success raising over $2,000 for the Auxiliary.
 
The report on construction included:

Positive comments are still being expressed by visitors regarding the front entrance of the hospital.

The repair of Patient Rooms 101, 102, 104, and 403 have been completed and the rooms are re-opened.

The 100 corridor ceiling has been replaced.
Staff is currently removing the remaining items from Home Health and moving them to their new location at the new Home Health office. 

The Drew Professional Clinic work is complete.  Dr. Holaday began her full-time practice on January 15, 2008.  Dr. Collins, Surgeon, plans to be on staff March 2008.
      
The Drew Memorial Medical Staff met on January 15, 2008, where Dr. Jeff Reinhart, assumed his role as Chief of Staff.

A radiology department note mentioned that increased marketing efforts are being implemented to increase local and surrounding doctors, as well as general public, klowledge of the radiological capabilities that exist in Drew Memorial.

The Washington, D.C., “20 for the Future” trip is scheduled for March 4-6, 2008.  The annual trip is an excellent opportunity to discuss priorities and issues within Monticello by a delegation from Drew County .  The assistance provided to Drew Memorial Hospital through the $421,605 Omnibus Bill appropriation was the result of the previous 2 years attendance with this Congressional Delegation.  The priorities for assistance which will be requested from Drew Memorial Hospital this year will be technological support of higher cost items.
The Southeast District Hospital Leadership Meeting is set to take place at Monticello on February 7.   Drew Memorial will be host to this quarters SE District leadership meeting in Monticello, where several hospital will be represented by leaders who are new to the southeast Arkansas area.
