What is the Drew MAN/WOMAN Challenge?
Everyone can build physical activity into their lives regardless of ability. Getting started can be a challenge, but it is well worth the effort. The Drew Woman on the Move Across the Nation (Drew WOMAN) program is a physical activity challenge to help men and women improve their health. This challenge encourages men, women, boys and girls to walk 10,000 steps or get 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day.

How does the program work?
Week One: Participants register during Week One of the program. Participants will receive a tracking log to record their progress and a pedometer to help count their steps, as well as assistance to set and record their goals.

Week Two-Completion: In Week Two participants get moving! Participants will log their steps/miles in the tracking log daily. Tracking logs will be submitted to the program coordinator at the end of the program. Healthy eating information will be provided during the third week.

Completion Week: In the Final Completion Week participants will meet with the program coordinator to tally up total individual, team, and program steps and present participants with incentive gifts and certificates based on their progress at a recognition luncheon.

Who can participate in the Challenge?
Any one can participate as an individual, but team participation is highly encouraged. Teams can be from worksites, churches, sororities, organizations or families. However if you choose to take part in the Drew MAN/WOMAN Challenge, make it fun. Use the spirit of competition to encourage another’s to meet goals and improve overall health.

How do I sign up?
You can meet with the program coordinator today to get more information and to start the registration process. As you would when beginning any physical activity program, Drew HEALTH recommends you use good judgment when setting goals, and see your health care provider concerning any health risks related to you beginning a new physical activity program.
