Drew County Quorum Court Report

The Drew County Quorum Court met in it’s regular session Monday night.

Items discussed included………

Approval of financial report.

Encourage Quorum Court members to attend Chamber of Commerce/MEDC banquet on Dec. 4.

Mike Mitchell & Jonathan Ayres gave presentation for Geo-Spacial mapping, primarily to be used in tax assessor’s office.  The bid process will specify requirements, but the estimated cost will range from $138,000 to $150,000, if the county takes action in this matter.   The program was tabled for now.

An ongoing program to share the expenses for the “V. A. van” was on the agenda, but will be discussed next month.

Richard Goddard, Drew Memorial Hospital administrator told that there is a requirement to have “electronic medical records” operational by 2012.

The County Public Facilities Board recommended David Funderburg be appointed to serve on their board.  The quorum court approved of his appointment.

The county approved a contract to continue leasing the DHS building to the Dept. of Human Services.  DHS then sub-leases space to Public Facilities and the Community Action group.

State funds from the Game & Fish Commission were divided between the school districts, according to state regulations, based on enrollment.  Monticello schools will  i$15,459.27, while Drew Central will get $7,196.05.

The meeting closed with the court voting to levy the taxes for the year.  Any changes to the millage would have to be decided by a general election.  The current millage will remain in place.
