Drew County Meth Lab Bust Sends Two to Jail
Published by News Release June 11th, 2008 in Police /Legal.According to Lt. Jason Akers of the Tenth Drug Task Force, Agents of the Task Force, along with Arkansas Probation and Parole Officers, seized a meth lab and arrested two (2) Drew County Residents.
According to Akers, Parole and Probation Officers went to the residence of Dewayne Flemister, age 37 of Monticello on a routine parole home visit and while doing so a second suspect and parolee, identified as Michael Shane Stringer, age 34, also of Monticello, ran from the back of the residence carrying a bag that contained a white powder. Stringer was apprehended by a parole officer as he tried to flee.

Agents from the Drug Task Force responded to assist and consent to search the residence and premises was obtained with some methaphetamine paraphernalia being located.
Although consent to search was obtained, a search warrant was obtained from Monticello District Judge Kenneth Harper for the residence.
The search warrant resulted in the location of items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, trash from past methamphetamine cooks and activity, loaded syringes, used syringes and scales believed to be used for weighing methaphetamine. Agents also located a suspected meth lab on the property as well that was hidden in a wooded area close to the property.

Both Stringer and Flemister are charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and both received bond in the amount of $100,000.
