Drew County Conservation District News-Elections-Scholarship-Educators Workshop
Published by News Release March 19th, 2008 in County.The newly elected members for the Drew County Conservation District board of directors are Frank Appleberry, Dwight Witcher, and Eric Stevens. The two appointed officials that complete the five member board are R.D.”Sonny” Jones and Gary Shrum.
April 1 is the deadline for $1,000 scholarship given annually by the board. The Southeast Regional Library and school counselors have entry forms. You may call 367-8400 ext.3, or come by the office at 419 West Gaines, Suite 3 for details and entry forms.
Project WET a one-day workshop for educators is scheduled for April 8th. In this case, the term educator is a person who is involved in helping others learn. Sunday School teachers, nursing home workers, Girl and Boy Scout leaders, 4-H leaders. The workshop is scheduled for 8:30a.m. to 4:00p.m. The district will provide lunch for free. For formal educators, ADE has approved 6 Professional Development Hours. Each pariticpant who stays the entire time will receive a free project WET guide over 500 pages.
