Deputies Testimony- Defense Rests

June 6th, 2018 by

After a recess, C.J., the owner of the trailer where Flowers was assaulted, also involved with Jeremy Huskey, took the stand.

The first question from the State was about her lying to officers about Huskey having never left the porch on the night in question.  She responded that she was afraid of Huskey.

The State rested, after her testimony.

The defense then called Deputy Brandon Wright to the stand.

Most of the questions dealt with his communication with Huskey.  The State asked Wright who Flowers said assaulted him.  He responded, “Jeremy Huskey.”

Next to testify was DCSO investigator Greg Johnson, who was asked how, when & where he obtained Huskey’s clothing from that night.  Johnson served a search warrant on July 31, based on a photo of of Huskey on July 18.  There he took a blue tank top and brown shorts from a hamper in the residence.

Huskey’s Mom was called to the stand, asked about remembered about that night, and answered she came to the porch from 10:30-11:30, then went back to bed.

The State pointed out later that the first 911 call came in at 11:29, that night.

Next, both attorneys and the defendant met at the judge’s bench, before the defense rested their case.

After closing arguments, the jury began their deliberations at 3:15.
