Lawyers are good at argumentation by simply reaching conclusions through logical reasoning.
CHRISTMAS CANDY GRAMS
The 9th grade class is selling Christmas Candy Grams for 50 cents. Say “Merry Christmas” to someone special. See a 9th grade class member for forms.
Attention All Class Presidents & Vice- Presidents - Today
Mr. Ferguson needs to meet with all Class presidents and Vice-Preidents, grades 8th - 12th , at lunch in the board room to plan Homecoming week activities.
PIZZA FOR SALE - Today - Friday, Dec. 12th
TOT will be selling pizza after school for $1.00 per slice on the front porch till Dec. 12th.
FCCLA MEETING - Today
There will be an FCCLA meeting this morning during homeroom in Mrs. Carter’s room. Members will be discussing the upcoming events as well as the Christmas party.
BLOOD DRIVE - Thursday, Dec. 4th
Life Shares will conduct a blood drive at Drew Central on Thursday, Dec. 4th from 8:30-2:00. Students who wish to be blood donors must sign up in the office Wednesday. You will be called out of class when it is time for you to donate. Blood donors MUST be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 lbs and have a photo ID.
HERFF JONES - Thursday, Dec. 4th
Herff Jones will be here Thrusday, Dec. 4th to take Senior orders, and to deliver class rings.
TOT MEETING - Thursday, Dec. 4th
There will be a TOT meeting Thursday, December 4th at 12:30 in Mrs. Vincent’s room.
SOPHOMORE CLASS DUES - Deadline, Friday - Dec. 5th
Attention Class of 2011 - The deadline to pay your $20 class dues is this FRIDAY to Mrs. Birch. Remember if you have paid your dues by Friday-your sponsors are giving you a party on Friday, Dec. 12th.
HAT DAY - Friday, Dec. 5th
Hat day will be Friday, Dec. 5th. Please see Mrs. Vincent to purchase your sticker for $1.00
FIRE DRILL - Friday, Dec. 5th
There will be a fire drill on Friday, Dec. 5th during 4th period.
Annual Christmas Concert Sunday, Dec. 7th
Our Annual Christmas Concert will be held this coming Sunday, December 7th, at 2:00pm in the auditorium. Nothing puts you in the Christmas spirit more than some Holiday tunes, so come out and support our students.
BLT MEETING - Tuesday, Dec. 9th
There will be a BLT meeting Tuesday, Dec. 9th in Mrs. Birch’s room during first period.
EAST CHRISTMAS CARD PROJECT - Wednesday, Dec. 10th
EAST Lab would like for all of the student body to bring a Christmas card to be sent to the soldiers in Iraq and also to some who are in the hospital. The deadline for Christmas cards will be no later than Dec. 10th. Please get your cards in and help us support our troops !
MERRY CHRISTMAS PAGENT - Dec. 14th
There will be a MERRY CHRISTMAS PAGENT, December 14, in the Earl Willis Auditorium. Entry forms are in the office . The proceeds go to help children on the ANGEL TREE.
YEARBOOKS !
136 yearbooks have been sold as of today. As stated earlier, 200 books needed to be sold by Christmas break. If you want a yearbook, YOU must purchase one by Dec. 19th, the cost is $ 40. This will be the first time in 54 years the Pirate Yearbook will not be produced if we do not reach our goal. In the event we cancel production, we will be giving refunds after the break.
COUNSELOR’S CORNER
· You may purchase a parking permit in the Counselor’s office for $5.00. You must have proof of insurance and driver’s license.
· ACT packets have arrived. You may pick up one in the counselor’s office.
· You may apply for a $1,000 scholarship from the Arkansas Student Loan Authority, just go to the website www.asla.info/collegeplanning/woodruffscholarship.htm. You can enter for the $1,000 drawing and also apply for the R. Preston Woodruff Jr. Scholarship.
· ESA Foundation Scholarships, Deadline February 1st. You may apply for up to 3 scholarships from this foundation.
