May 6th, 2013 by Drew Central SchoolsAttention Students – Students make sure you are following the dress code policy. Classes missed due to being sent home to change will be considered as an unexcused absence. Also a reminder, skateboards are not allowed on campus.
REMINDER TO STUDENTS – Students are not allowed in the building to go to their lockers until the second bell. Anyone caught at their lockers before this time will be written up for a dhall assignment.
Reminder To Students – Caps, hats, visors, scarves, headbands, bandannas, and sunglasses are NOT to worn in any school building by either boys or girls. Those items worn inside any building will be taken and kept by the principal.
Attention Students – Loitering in the parking lot after school will NOT be tolerated! If you attend tutoring or other after school activities you need to get to your destination in a timely manner. Tutoring/Remediation students need to wait on the front porch till tutoring begins.
Attention Students – If you need a form and transcript for your driver’s license you must pick up a request, fill it out and return it to Ms. Colbert one week before you need them for the test. We will not give you the paperwork on the morning of the test, at the last minute.
DEATH OF A SALEMAN – Students who will be traveling to Little Rock on Thursday, May 9th) need to pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Kiraly today !
SR. HIGH SPORTS BANQUET – Tuesday, May 7
The Sr. High Sports Banquet will be Tuesday, May 7. The banquet will begin at 6:00 in the cafeteria followed by the awards presentation in the auditorium. Athletes meal will be provided free of charge, guests MUST sign-up in advance and pay $10 at the door. Athletes, you may pick up your guest forms in the HS office from Mrs. Nancy. Coach Goad needs your forms TODAY !!!
2013 PIRATE YEARBOOKS –
The 2013 DC Yearbook is now on sale. Cost is $40. See any journalism student or Ms. Atkins for an order form. Also a reminder to seniors that you need to choose your senior poses ASAP.
ATTENTION JUNIORS:
Any junior boy interested in attending Boy’s State the application is in the counselor’s office.
Any junior interested in attending Governor’s School this summer needs to stop by the counselor’s office to pick up information.
Juniors: The AR Game and Fish Commission has initiated the Youth Conservation Institute. If you are interested in career paths in the science of conservation you need to apply. Only 30 students from around the state will be chosen. There is also a scholarship opportunity at the completion of the institute. Info in the counselor’s office

Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Arkansas Universal Scholarship Application. More info in the counselor’s office.
Associated General contractor’s Education Foundation Scholarship, for construction and related fields. $1,000 Deadline June 1.
Earnest Whitelaw-Don Kinney Scholarship Awarded by the American Indian Center of Arkansas. Criteria in the counselor’s office.
