Daniel Sawyer wins the Monticello Bass Club tournament at Pool 2.Daniel topped 28 anglers to take the win at Pool 2 of the Arkansas River on Saturday July 12. With about 60 boats fishing the pool due to 4 club tournaments being held that day, Daniel was able to catch 3 bass for 15.35 pounds. There was only one limit and 9 zeros. Here is how the top 4 finishers caught their fish:
1st - Daniel Sawyer - 3 bass - 15.35 pounds
Daniel reported catching all his keepers on a spinnerbait in the Annex. He said he caught a lot of short fish on various plastic baits.
2nd - Caleb Lane - 5 bass - 14.36 pounds
Caleb continues to be on fire and was the only angler to weigh in a limit on this day. Caleb said he caught two fish on a jig in Coal Pile then he went out in the river and finished his limit. He caught his fish on a black and blue Eakins Jig.
3rd - Adam Starks - 4 bass - 11.96 pounds
Adam reported catching his fish flipping mats and on a spinnerbait against grass lines. Unfortunately, he said he lost one that was in the 7 or 8 pound range next to the boat.
4th - Jimmy Clement - 4 bass - 11.37 pounds
Jimmy reported catching his fish on a black with red flake 8 inch magnum zoom lizard in the Annex.
Big Bass - Daniel Sawyer - 5.54 pounds
Daniel caught this fish on a spinnerbait.
