According to Lt. Jason Akers of the Tenth Drug Task Force, Crossett residents Melissa Copeland, age 19, and Summor Moon, age 30, were arrested in Monticello by Drug Task Force Agents in July for multiple felony drug charges that occurred in Drew County. Moon and Copeland were arrested and charged with Possession of a controlled susbtance, marijuana, with the intent to deliver and possession of schedule III narcotics (hydrocodone). Both Copeland and Moon posted bond and were released.

On August 1, 2008 Drug Task Force Agents, working with the Crossett Police Department, attempted to arrest Moon and Copeland in Crossett on active warrants for intimidating a witness stemming from the Drew County arrests. During the course of this arrest, Agents and Crossett Officers also arrested Moon for obtaining controlled substances by fraud after learning that she had seen multiple doctors and obtained narcotics. Agents additionally searched Moon’s residence and located approximately 4,300.00 in cash and other drug paraphernalia inside the residence. Dennis Moon, age 42 of Crossett, was also arrested at the residence and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to manufacture.
