County Judge’s Report, Judge Damon Lampkin
Published by News Release November 27th, 2007 in County Judge's Report. The Thanksgiving holidays of 2007 are gone. We received a tad over 2 inches of rain at my house over the holidays.
Last Monday began checking Vincent Lane before going to the courthouse. Later that morning I attended a ribbon-cutting for the new Bright’s ladies clothing store in North Park Mall.
That afternoon I checked roads in the areas of Goose Hollow Road, Valley Junction Road, and Ozment Bluff Road in addition to the southern end of Midway Route.
Then I checked the museum lawn to see what needed to be done before the parade next week.
Office work consumed the rest of the day.
Monday evening the Quorum Court met in its regular monthly meeting.
On Tuesday I began by checking the areas around Longview Road, Prairie Chapel Road, Boston Road and Sullivan Road.
Returning to Monticello, I checked the progress on installing the new generator at the health office before returning to the office.
Routine office chores filled the rest of the day.
Wednesday morning I was primarily in the office because my secretary was out for the day. I did go look at the speed bumps near Maxwell Flooring Co. before lunch.
The afternoon was spent quietly in the office. I did meet with Art Stokenbury, a field representative for Senator Mark Pryor.
Thursday and Friday the courthouse was closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Last Monday the grader operators checked roads on their routes. SB2 was hauled from Pine Bluff.
An 18 x 30 pipe was installed on Burton Road. Some maintenance work was done at the shop.
Trash bags were picked up where the prisoners from Dermott cleaned the roadsides on West Lacey Road.
A tractor was hauled to Lone Sassafras Road.
On Tuesday maintenance work on equipment continued at the shop.
Pleasant Grove Road, and Longview Road were doublegraded. Bowden Loop, Prairie Grove Road, Deal Road, Deal Lane, Slina Road, O. Z. Simpson Road, Friendship Lane, Carl O’Neal Road, Old Warren Road. part of South Allis Road and Tennessee Spur Road were bladed.
Some driveways were fixed on Old Hwy 13 Road.
SB2 was hauled.
Wednesday saw equipment maintenance continued.
More roads were checked.
Signs were put up on Wilson Mill Road, South Bowser Road and East Mount Zion Road.
The report is shorter this week because of a three-day week. We trust everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving.
Be sure to watch for the children at these bus stops.
Have a great week!
