Tips from the public led to the arrest over the weekend of James “Bug” Miller, for the recent series of break-ins at S&S Quick Stop in Wilmar.
(The earlier story about the thefts are re-printed below.)
Miller was arrested by Drew County Deputies David Wesson and Rex Davis, on Sunday.
Miller is being charged with three counts each of commercial burglary, theft of property, and criminal mischief, and is being held in the Drew County Detention Facility.

Also, involved in the was the “game machine” located inside of the building.

Possibly Related:

Me and my husband have noticed that when we go to Monticello that there’s usually vehicles parked near the back of the store and we could see that there wasn’t really anybody inside. We weren’t really surprised when we heard about the gaming machine that was stolen besides the cigarettes. Did any law enforcement know about the “gaming machine” being on the premises before the store was burglarized? That is illegal isn’t it? Around here anyway!
It was a racing video game, not a pay-out casino style machine.
The Lucas family are great people, and I am sure that nothing illegal was being permitted in their store. I grew up in Wilmar, and can attest to the fact that most residents there greatly appreciiate the environment, and atmosphere that is required to be within their store. There’s no loud music permitted, and it is the cleanest gas station I have ever seen.
It’s a pity that people keep ripping them off. It’s unsightly to need to put those bars on the windows, but are needed, sadly enough.
As for their Monticello location, we do a lot of business there as well, and appreciate the value of a family run business. Stanley and Sheila are good for the economy here, and I hope these thefts that are occuring to their store will not “run them off.”

It really is a slap in the face to African Americans, when others of the same race do everything they can to take away from them that have worked hard to give the City of Wilmar the convenience of having a store at their disposal.
Instead of tearing something down that is good, my people we need to stand firm and help the Lucas family keep their business going, not only for them and their children but for the City of Wilmar. Thank God for the ones who helped justice prevail in the city of Wilmar.
