Coach Paschal Leaving Billies to Coach at Barton – RePost

June 4th, 2010 by

After 5 seasons as football coach, two 5A conference championship titles, and this year’s 5A State Championship, Coach Van Paschal is leaving the Monticello Billies to coach Class 3A Barton.

Paschal led the Billies to an undefeated season, and a 38-7 victory over Camden-Fairview at War Memorial Stadium, last December for their first state championship in 15 years.

Coach Paschal spoke to MonticelloLive, this morning, and expressed his gratefulness to the community, saying,  ”I appreciate the support of the people of Monticello, they’ve been good to my family.”   He continued, “We are thankful for the opportunity to work in the school and the community, where you’re able to express your faith. There seems to be an open door there, thanks to community minded people, with a good outlook on life.”
