Civil rights workshop scheduled at UAM
Published by UAM News April 2nd, 2007 in UAM News.The University of Arkansas at Monticello will host a civil rights law workshop entitled “Understanding Federal Civil Rights Law: What Every American Should Know,” on April 5 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the auditorium of the Memorial Classroom Building.
The workshop is designed for police chiefs, sheriffs and prosecutors but is open to the public as well, according to Tim Griffen, U.S. attorney. The primary purpose of the workshop, according to Griffen, is to educate law enforcement and community leaders about federal civil rights law with special focus on the evidence necessary to build a federal civil rights case. There will also be a discussion of completed civil rights cases prosecuted in Arkansas.
Griffen and Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Johnson will lead the workshop.
