City Water Service off in Spring Branch & 278 West

February 6th, 2014 by

imageAccording to sources, city water service has been disrupted in the Spring Branch, Tennessee Spur, and sports complex areas, since around 2 PM Wednesday afternoon.

A Facebook post made by city employee indicates the repair should be completed by noon, Thursday. Again, MLive was not notified so that we could post the information for residents’ knowledge.

According to recollection, this is the first time city water services been disrupted overnight for residents. In the past, workers have worked into the early morning hours, to meet the needs of residents.

  1. Allison says:

My water went off at 12:30, not 2:00. I know because it happened while I was brushing my teeth on my lunch break. Twenty hours without water has been frustrating!

  2. Heather says:

This is completely unacceptable. I was blown away that the workers left shortly after dark, leaving everyone without water for the night (Do they not have work lights?). There will be a deduction for the water I had to buy to flush the toilets & wash our hands & brush our teeth. Never in my life have I seen a situation like this, if it had been any other utility, they would have worked until it was fixed. POOR, POOR city operations!!! And to think, this is the service we have been paying for all of these years! What a joke! Way to go Monticello Water! As if Monticello doesn’t have a bad enough name!

  3. Sandy says:

I’m trying to look on the positive side. Just thankful it doesn’t happen more often. It has to be a tough job out in this weather. Grateful to live in a place where we have clean, pure water the majority of the time.
