City Hall Boarded Up
Published by Joe Burgess August 30th, 2008 in City.Although the most popular question in Monticello this weekend was “why is city hall preparing for the hurricane, that isn’t the case at all.
When the crew that is replacing the old windows at the city hall got to the building’s curved area facing the square, they encountered two steel support columns that they didn’t know were there. A simple change in hardware is all that is needed, but that won’t be available until early next week.
Although having plywood over city hall windows doesn’t rank as high on the “redneck scale” as when former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee moved into a (triple wide) mobile home duing the remodeling at the Governor’s Mansion, it was worth mentioning.
