The Monticello City Council met in it’s regular monthly meeting Thursday night.

Items on the agenda included:

Sales tax revenues are up just over $4,100, from this time, last year.

Any “leftover” money from the pool liner settlement will be transfered to the sales tax fund.

Approval of the street overly bid from R. M. Courson, for $67.84 per ton, plus tax.

All council members were asked to prepare a list of their recommendations for street overlays to be turned in soon.

Approval of a resolution selling the land at the ”old high school” property (W. Jackson and S. Hyatt) to Delta Counseling for the proposed housing units, for a revised price of $24,000.

Approval of a resolution for the Mayor to sign a contract with Pomeroy & McGowin for timber management services on the cities lake property.  P & M will be allowed to accept bids for clearing, with the city having the choice of choosing which bid is best for the cities interests.  Mark Sikole, with P & M, estimates that there will be up to $75,000 worth of pine and hardwood pulpwood to be harvested in the thinning process.  This will be accomplished by removing 5-8 inch pine, and 5-11 inch hardwood, to be sold as pulpwood.

Passing a resolution agreeing to contract with Natare for the City Park pool liner removal and installation of the new pool liner.

Approving a measure allowing extra funds designated for light at Hank Thompson field that were over the needed amount, to be spent on other equipment for use at Jordan Park / Hank Thompson field.
