Monticello attorney, Cliff Gibson, who had been employed to represent the city of Monticello, to represent us in litigation against KAJ Construction (and their bonding company), who did work on the pool/pool liner at City Park.  Details of this portion of the meeting will be detailed more in depth over the weekend, here at MonticelloLive.com.

Ken Harper, President of the Monticello Boys & Girls Club, updated the Council with recent changes at the Club, including the Sunday Night’s “Branson Comes to Monticello” fundraiser, sponsored by First Assembly of God, in Monticello.  After hearing around 40 students are using “the Club” on an average day, agreed to “un-table” the resolution from last month, with intent to approve it next month.

The field lighting for Hank Thompson Field was discussed, and voted on by the coucil. There were 2 bids received for the lights, but the lowest bid did not meet the required specifications, so it was disqualified, and the higher bid won, but still came in around $5,000 below estimated costs.
