City Council Filing Period Ends Today, at Noon – 6 Have Filed for Re-election, 1 Draws Opponent

Current Aldermen and anyone interested in seeking those positions need to pick up filing paperwork from the county clerk’s office, have it signed by 30 residents in their ward, and return it by noon on Monday, March 4.
As of Monday morning, Alderpersons Al Peer, Craig McRae, Michael James, Mike Wigley, Mark Tiner, and Claudia Hartness have filed for reelection.
Brandon Hogg has filed for Ward 2, Position 2, currently held by Hartness.
Taryn Wigley has filed for the position of city clerk, which she currently holds. It is a four-year term, but she must run for the spot, since she was appointed by the council.
