On September 11, 2008 Charlie Marter, shown here with his wife, Sara, was diagnosed with stage 4, small-cell lung cancer that has metastasized to the brain and to the spine. This heart-breaking situation developed over a period of three days for Charlie and his wife, Sara.

The cancer fund has been set up to help with the financial burden of insurance that has been found lacking, expense of travel for treatments, the loss of one weekly paycheck and the uncertainty of any other income.

Please keep Charlie and Sara both in your thoughts and especially in your prayers.

Anyone who would like to give to the Charles Marter Cancer Fund may do so at any Parkway Bank location location or contact family spokespersons Jennifer Gavin at 723-0239 or Charley Marter, Jr.at 723-8690.
